Miami, Florida(Hexa PR Wire–May 12, 2025)–
David Behar, founder of the Miami Sephardic Club (MSC), joined The Michael Peres Podcast to discuss his journey from corporate finance to community leadership—and his mission to connect Sephardic Jews across the globe through large-scale events, cultural programming, and cutting-edge matchmaking.
“MSC started from that simple goal—to meet every single Sephardic Jew in the world and get to know them on a first name basis,” Behar shared during the episode. “They estimate that Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews are about 4 to 4.5 million people across the whole globe. That was my mission from the beginning.”
Founded in 2021, MSC has grown into a dynamic force in the Jewish community, hosting events that attract up to 550 attendees in Miami and beyond. The organization has also expanded into web-based matchmaking via Sephardic Speed Dating, a proprietary platform that coordinates up to seven dates per person at each event.
“It’s a web-based platform. I have my own technology that I use for this and it works great and we’ve made a lot of improvements over time,” Behar explained. “It allows me as the matchmaker to pre-plan dates. For every single person I know all the people they’re going to meet for the night and the technology moves them from room to room throughout the night.”
Far from being limited to singles, Behar emphasized MSC’s broader cultural and communal aims.
“It’s not a singles organization. It’s to bring Sephardic Jews together and also help each of us help each other out, whether it’s business or anything,” he said. “I think people are drawn to me and my organization because these are people coming to meet other Sephardic Jews and feel closer to their heritage.”
As Behar looks to the future, he’s focused on scaling the speed dating model and launching more global initiatives.
“I hope that within the next five years it will turn into some real business opportunities—maybe different companies. The more people you meet, the more ideas you get.”
